Tips on driving traffic to your web site

Its not enough to have a web sites anymore and the term S.E.O is so overrated.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not throwing the concept of S.E.O (Search Engine Optimization) out he window, its just that most anybody can optimize their website or blog and still learn many tips and techniques online.  Sure you could use pay per click, but when your trying to make money and spend less of it, you will have to resort to the many different way to drive traffic to you site.Lets start with a blog. Yes, that’s right a blog. How in the heck is a blog going to help? Well it wont if you don’t have any readers. Views are fine and you will need plenty of them.  To goal is to build your readership (notice I said readership), once again…views are fine, but readers will keep coming back when your site is either informational, inspirational or entertaining. When your site has traffic in the form of readers, you can place your ads (your ads) strategically on your blog about your products and services.  You have to write about something that will interest the reader. Doing a simple cut and paste of  articles that belong to someone else, NOT GOOD!  You will ruin your creditability as a business person when one of your readers tell you how they enjoyed your articles and you can’t  knowledgeably respond to them.

Write about what you are passionate about and the readers will eventually find you. How? Certain keywords and phrases that will lead readers to your blog and they will see your the ads that link back to your website. Words and phrases that work for my blogs are:  Sex, Love, Information, Communication, Tight Skirts, Technology, Free. When it comes to current events or news headlines, words like: earthquake, tsunami, robbery, health risk, foot problems will come up in someones search and hopefully lead them to your site.

Now lets talk social networks; in an instant you can send out a tweet to hundreds of your followers, referencing a product or page on your website. I guess the questions is, how do you get more followers now when you have so few or your just starting off? That’s easy, plenty of software programs will help you locate followers in a geographical location or by key words. Build your followers, tweet about your blog and your website. You are only limited by your imagination.  So, as you can see, simply having a web site is not enough when you want to get the word out about your online business.
