How To Sell Your Old iPhone To Get An Upgrade

There are probably many articles on the web on how to do this and many of those articles will reference services that will pay you for your used equipment. The problem that I find with this is, you’re given a low offer and of course they will resell it at a higher price to make a profit. These online services are great if you do not want the hassle of listing it and then shipping it to a buyer yourself.

If you own a website or better yet a blog, you can list your own electronic equipment and sell it for what you ask for (as long as the price is reasonable). When I listed and sold my Iphone 3GS, I was able to sell it for $259.00. The phone was in great condition, no dents, dings or scratches. I kept the phone in a protective case.

Since I develop websites, I was able to create an online store for my website, complete with products and shopping cart. I use Google Check Out to process payments. It’s safe and secure and I list all my products there. When I want to draw attention to a specific product, I get the product URL and I send a Tweet to my more than 3,000 followers. Use a catchy attention getting phrase and you will drive instant traffic to that product. My iPhone sold within 32 minutes after listing. Once I sold it, I received my money instantly, I used it to get my new Iphone4 and my out of pocket was only $40.00. How’s that for an upgrade!

Bloggers, you can create a widget for your sidebar with the announcement that you are selling your iPhone, If you do not want to sell it internationally, make sure you say, US residents only, no PO boxes please. You will be surprises at how many people are looking for the equipment that you are selling.

Craigs list is a great place to advertise you iPhone sale. I simply list the URL to my web site. What I will not do is meet someone to make the exchange. It’s the year 2010, use the internet for all its worth and it’s worth the time and investment that will afford you’re the tools and resources to eventually sell your unwanted tech equipment. Sure you can use EBay and pay those fees to list you item on an already saturated system or you can do it yourself and cut put the middle man.
